About
A citizen science tool for mapping urban green infrastructure. Photograph what's growing, track its condition over time, and flag issues that need attention.
How It Works
- Sign in to create an account
- Photograph green infrastructure you find — planters, street trees, green walls, rain gardens, and more
- AI identifies the type automatically from your photo
- Set the condition (Poor, OK, or Good) and add observations
- Location is auto-detected from photo GPS, your device, or placed manually on the map
- Submit and it appears as a marker on the map
Features
- AI classification: Photos are automatically analysed to identify the green infrastructure type
- Multiple observations: Add follow-up visits to existing scout sites to track changes over time
- Issue tracking: Flag problems (damage, overgrown, etc.) — issues persist across observations until marked as resolved
- Shape outlines: Draw rectangles, circles, or freehand polygons to show the extent of larger features
- Observation timeline: View the full history of observations for each scout site
- Edit and update: Modify your scout sites — change condition, location, images, and issues
Map
The basemap switches automatically between OpenStreetMap (default) and OS MasterMap (signed-in users) for higher detail.
